Whats all this about Contemporary Art

January 8th, 2009

Quite simply the word Contemporary means of the present period. So a person can probably guess that Contemporary Art simply means art of the present period.

The shape, form and indeed the mediums used have changed over the centuries and have allowed artists to express themselves at the time or period in which they either lived or live in.

We like to believe that our art here at Canvas Art Land falls under the Contemporary Art heading in the art world. We keep up to date with all of the latest trends in fashion and art to ensure that our customers receive a contemporary canvas art print that they can enjoy many years from now.

Contemporary Art

Contemporary Art Contemporary Art Prints
Contemporary Art simply refers to art that has been made in our times.

It represents such a diverse array of art that one would have a task to describe all forms in one place or web site. Contemporary art has evolved in the past, will evolve in the present time and continue into future art, it is and will be an ever moving art form.

Canvas Art Land has worked very hard to get a range of contemporary canvas art prints that represents today’s people and today’s decor.

But please if you find that we have overlooked a particular form of contemporary art then please let us know, we are always seeking new and differing views.

Design your bedroom like a five star hotel room

December 31st, 2008

Just checked into a swanky hotel room and instantly all problems go flying out the window, the mellow tone and luxurious setting make us feel like a million bucks, but why can’t we get the same feeling every time we walk into our own bedroom?

Well now you can. Just concentrate on these five areas when decorating your room and you will be well on your way to having a five star bedroom of your own!

1: Lighting:
Decide what you enjoy about staying in a hotel room, is it soft lighting that helps you unwind? Is it bright lights that make you feel fresh? If you want to feel relaxed (most probably) in your bedroom, go for soft lights but plenty of so that not all your light is coming from one spot.

2: Bed:
This is probably the most important, and is probably the most expensive thing in a hotel room. Everyone is different so you need to find a bed that you really enjoy sleeping in and will continue to enjoy every night, after all a bed is not just for Christmas.

3: Aroma:
We couldn’t emphasize this enough, when you walk through that hotel room what is the first thing you realize? You probably don’t even notice it but its most likely to be the aroma that hits your nose, Hotels spend a fortune to get rooms smelling fresh and new, some Hotels in Dubai apparently have their own unique aroma that apparently help their customers feel relaxed. A regular clean, fresh air and some pot puree.

4: Personalize:
Personalize your room but don’t over do it with pictures! After all we still want it to feel like a new experience every time you walk through that door. Pictures and artwork can be a great way of personalizing your room without overdoing it. Carefully selected furniture can really do the trick here because it will be endorsed by your personal taste without overdoing it.

There you are, keep these in the back of your mind whenever you are decorating and you will be on the way to your very own 5* bedroom.

Enjoy!

Buying products online this Christmas? Safely?

December 17th, 2008

Just follow this simple checklist below and you should reduce the risks of the F word (referring to fraud, just to be sure).

1)       Does the web site have an SSL certificate logo, for example on canvasartland.co.uk  you will see a Trustwave sign on the home page if you click this it will confirm an independent security assessment from the security provider.

2)       When typing in your payment information (credit card number) does the browser address have a https:// instead of a http:// if so this means that you are transacting over a secure connection

3)       Look and Feel: Difficult one, we all have instincts, apply these to the web site, does it look as if you can trust it. For example on the high street if you have one shop down a dodgy alley way and another on the busy high street and they sell the same product, chance are you will trust the high street store.

Why you should expect nothing but the best in canvas art

December 16th, 2008

We have, probably like yourself, purchased canvas art prints over the past few years. Maybe like yourself, we haven’t been to happy with what we bought. Why? We were promised nothing but good quality canvas art prints that will last years and years, but the sad truth is that most of them didn’t last a year before they started to age with ink fading and the tightness of the canvas wearing away. We here at Canvas Art Land hear you, we know exactly what our customers want from their canvas prints and how long they want them to last. We make sure that they receive excellent customer service, and a canvas of the best quality. Something that art galleries and museums would be proud of.

In addition to this, because we do not outsource any of our business we can provide you with a brilliant value for money to your door. Our canvas art comes in three prices (we like to keep things very simple) as follows: £35, £55 and £85 dependent on size ordered. Visit Canvas Art Land  to find out more.

Postage and packaging:
UK £10
Europe £45
